Product Description

The effects of GPF and its arrangement on particle mass and particle number in WLTC test cycle of automobile were studied. In terms of particulate emissions, the emissions of gasoline engines with GPF are significantly lower than those without GPF. With the increase of GPF, the PM value decreased to about 20% of the original emission, and the PN value decreased by about two orders of magnitude, far below the Euro 6 emission limit. In the aspect of GPF arrangement, the same GPF is adopted, but the distance from previous TWC is different. The influence of GPF arrangement on PM and PN is compared. The control effect of the two arrangements on gas emissions is basically the same. However, in the aspect of particulate matter emission control, the result of the rear arrangement is better than that of the tight coupling arrangement.

In terms of fuel consumption, the exhaust back pressure increases after installing GPF, and the fuel consumption is higher than that of cars without GPF; However, since the rear GPF is far away from the previous TWC, its influence on exhaust back pressure is much smaller than that of the tight coupling arrangement, so the rear GPF has no obvious influence on gasoline consumption.
